Hamilton software company makes pandemic pivot
Hamilton software company QReserve — which makes equipment-booking software for research companies and academic institutions — has made a pandemic pivot into property management. The company was born after founder Brandon Aubie ran into challenges finding a tool he needed at McMaster University. QReserve allows institutions to catalogue and reserve shared equipment and meeting spaces. It is based at McMaster Innovation Park, which is also one of its clients.
“When the pandemic hit, we suddenly had places like gyms asking for complex scheduling and management solutions that before we had only seen in advanced research facilities,” said business development associate Milica Vrakela. “Now, we have Broadway rehearsal studios and condominium fitness centres asking for and using the same solutions as multibillion dollar-pharmaceutical companies.”
